Bought this barrel for a DPMS LR rifle. The rifle was very heavy (18 lbs with optics, loaded). After changing the barrel, it weighs 5.5 to 6 lbs less. The barrel went on very easily. Accuracy improved drastically. The rifle will shoot virtually in one hole at 100 yards now. I own several bolt rifles with Christensen barrels. They all shoot extremely well, cool quickly and maintain very small differences between cold bore shots and following shots. Do yourself a favor and buy one, just be sure to read the guidance on bolt carrier groups and barrel extensions.
9/10/2016 – Is this barrel compatible with a Armalite upper and BCG?
Response From Christensen Arms: Yes, dimensionally the measurement from the back of the lugs to the breach face is within .001?-.002? on the Armalite and DPMS bolts. Note: You must use a properly headspaced bolt that matches the barrel extension type. This means you need to use an Armalite Bolt in an Armalite Barrel Extension and likewise for DPMS. In our case we use a DPMS extension on our barrels. So you will need to change out the extension to an Armalite or change out the bolt to a DPMS.
7/15/2016 – Adjustable on non-adjustable gas block?
Response From Christensen Arms: Non-adjustable from Christensen Arms.
7/7/2016 – What is the weight on the .308 18" barrel?
Response From Christensen Arms: Thank you for inquiring about our products. The barrel weighs 2.2 lbs.
6/29/2016 – Can the ar10 barrel shoot 7.62 x 51 or just 308
Response From Christensen Arms: We chamber in 308 win. So we only recommend shooting that specific ammunition.
